Hey there, fellow dreamers and misfits,
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I'm thrilled to have you here as I embark on a journey of self-discovery and creative expression. My name is Emily, and I'm about to take my first steps into the exhilarating world of becoming a debut author.
But before we dive into the exciting chapters of my upcoming young adult novel, "Who Said It Would Be Easy," let me take a moment to introduce myself and set the stage for what you can expect from this blog.
If you're anything like me—a single, thirty-year-old with a penchant for non-conformity and a desire to follow your dreams—you might find a kindred spirit in my story. I've decided to share my unfiltered, honest, and sometimes messy journey of pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a best-selling author.
So, who am I writing for? Well, if you've ever grappled with the pressures of getting older and felt like you don't quite fit into society's neatly carved-out molds, you're in the right place.
This blog is for the adult misfits, the individuals who dare to stand out and refuse to blend in. It's for anyone seeking inspiration to break free from the monotony of soul-sucking jobs and embrace the pursuit of their dreams.
Through my writing, I hope to inspire and comfort you, reminding you that you are never too old to start anew. It's okay if you're still searching for your place in the world, because you're not alone.
In fact, my own journey has been marked by struggles with anxiety and depression throughout my teens and twenties, and I'm here to share those experiences openly and honestly.
For years, I tried to fit into various versions of myself, seeking validation from others and fearing rejection. I became my own harshest critic, relentlessly bullying myself. But then, as I got older I luckily started to meet some amazing women who offered me support and unwavering friendship. They helped me see my worth and the power of self-acceptance. Their love and acceptance were the first steps towards healing.
And then, there's BTS—the Korean music sensation that, for me, became more than just a band. Their music and message taught me the importance of self-love and embracing my true self.
They reminded me that it's okay to dream big and aim for the stars, no matter where you are in life.
In the future, I'll delve deeper into my journey into the BTS universe, sharing the transformative impact their art had on my life.
But for now, let's embark on this adventure together. In upcoming posts, I'll share more about my experiences, lessons learned, and insights gained on this path of self-discovery.
Stay tuned for a post on "Ten Things I've Learned Before Turning Thirty."
This blog is my canvas, and I'm excited to paint a portrait of authenticity, self-love, and unapologetic dream-chasing. So, grab a cup of your favourite beverage, settle in, and let's navigate the unpredictable waters of adulthood, one story at a time.
Remember, you are not alone, and your journey is just beginning.
With love and vulnerability,
Emily
